Only consecutive floor-to-floor interfaces are assessed. Non-adjoining floors separated by a complete intervening compartment are not compared.

How this checker works
- Fire Index: occupancies with the same Fire Index may be eligible for mixed occupancy; different Fire Indices require separated or detached treatment.
- Separated occupancy: actual direct boundaries use Table 3.2.1 fire-rated barrier walls or floor/ceiling assemblies.
- NP: means "Not Permitted" for that direct occupancy interface only — it is not applied to remote occupancies separated by complete intervening fire compartments.
- Not checked here: full official Table 3.2.1 verification, detailed classification, egress, alarm/suppression, travel distance, height, area, exterior walls, fire-service access, and all other BNBC requirements.
